Kürten, 28 January 2026 – Adventure Country Tracks e.V. looks back on the successful completion of the ACT France project. After a week-long film and scouting tour through France, intensive preparatory work and follow-up, the latest chapter in ACT history has now been officially released.
The track
ACT France is probably the perfect introduction to the world of ACT. For new adventure riders who have understood the basics of adventure riding and feel confident, this 970 km route is a real highlight. In fact, riders of all experience levels will be impressed by the incredible and varied landscape of this east-west crossing of the hinterland of southern France.
The route begins among the breathtaking cliffs and headlands of the Vercours Massif and ends five days later at the towering rock barrier of the Pyrenees. It changes from day to day: in the mountains there are forests and pastures, in the valleys there are grain fields and vineyards, but due to the changing soil and rock layers, no two places are alike. Sometimes the path is sandy yellow, then gravelly red, and finally rocky black. Throughout the route, you can see the traces of human activity, through agriculture, through architecture, through the centuries and back to prehistory.
With around 41 % off-road, ACT France remains deliberately realistic and challenging at the same time. But numbers quickly fade into the background: the driving experience is what counts. As with all ACT tracks, the routes wind their way through remote highland regions, taking their time and leading away from the hustle and bustle along the quietest and most scenic side roads in the region. Although we are in the heart of Central Europe – with modern metropolises just a few hours’ drive away – ACT France succeeds in taking travellers to a slower-paced, unspoilt France. A country that touches the heart and leaves a lasting impression.
The track is now available exclusively to ACT members as a gpx download.
Sold-out cinema premiere & strong YouTube launch
A special highlight was the cinema premiere on 5 December 2025 at the Cinenova cinema. The 341-seat cinema was completely sold out – a strong sign of the great interest in ACT France and the association’s documentary adventure films.
The YouTube premiere on 25 December was also a complete success: shortly after its release, the approximately one-hour film already had a very high reach and enthusiastic feedback from the international ACT community. Authentic insights, impressive landscape shots and genuine moments of adventure make the film another milestone in the ACT film series.
Thank you & outlook
Adventure Country Tracks e.V. would like to thank all members, friends, supporters and sponsors who made ACT France possible – whether through local involvement, feedback, trust or long-standing cooperation.
With the successful completion of ACT France, we are already looking ahead. Like all ACT routes, this track is a living project that is continuously maintained and reviewed to ensure its long-term rideability and legal admissibility. All riders are invited to do their part by riding respectfully, considerately and sustainably. We ask that you adjust your speed and ride quietly, especially near towns and populated areas. Maintaining access to French trails is largely dependent on the work of the national organisation Codever. ACT recommends that all users of ACT France familiarise themselves with its code of conduct before travelling and adhere to it consistently.
About Adventure Country Tracks:
ACT Adventure Country Tracks® is an association for motorcycle adventurers that has been verifying a new ACT route in Europe every year since 2016. Each ACT track is carefully developed and includes the best legally accessible routes for adventure motorcycles. ACT tracks are GPX tracks that members can download from the protected area of the ACT website.
Since 2016, the association has established routes in Portugal, Italy, the Pyrenees, Romania, Greece, Great Britain, Croatia and Albania/Montenegro. Each ACT route is accompanied by a professionally produced ACT film, which is made possible thanks to the support of industry partners and makes an important contribution to the continued existence of the association.
